Entries are now being accepted for the Fire Excellence Awards, which
recognise the very best in fire safety products, services and people.
The Fire Excellence Awards, run in conjunction with the Fire Industry Association, will be held on 12 May at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. The awards celebrate and acknowledge excellence in fire safety engineering, product design and innovation, and best practice in the fire and rescue service.
In total, 12 awards will be handed out in the following categories:
– FIA Product Innovation
– FIA Export Innovation
– Fire Safety Manager
– Fire Safety Equipment Installer – Active
– Fire Safety Equipment Installer – Passive
– FSE Fire Safety Engineering
– FSE Project Design
– Contribution to Community Fire Safety – Individual
– Contribution to Community Fire Safety – Team
– Contribution to Community Fire Safety – Corporate
– Outstanding Action – Fire and Rescue Service
– Outstanding Action – Civilian
Judges on the independent judging panel include Graham Ellicott, Fire Industry Association, Carol Atkinson, BRE Global, Wilf Butcher, Association for Specialist Fire Protection, Iain Cox, Chief Fire Officers Association, Dr. Jim Glockling, Fire Protection Association and John Northey, consultant editor of FSE.
The awards, which are supported by the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Fire Protection Association (FPA), will form part of International Firex 2009 and Fire & Rescue 2009, which run from 11-14 May 2009 at the NEC, Birmingham.
