Catering for kitchen safety

[

Chubb Fire has a range of products to meet the growing needs of restaurants, hotels and pubs. According to government figures, 2900 fires were reported in these types of premises in 2004.

A cooker hood fire suppression system is a self-contained stainless steel enclosure which can be installed with a nozzle aimed at a specific appliance, or at a range of appliances. Triggered by a fusible link which separates at a certain temperature, it releases a compressed gas cylinder, which in turn releases a wet chemical agent. When applied to burning oil, the agent cools and emulsifies is, sealing the surface and preventing re-ignition.

For smaller kitchens, Chubb fire also has a Class F wet chemical extinguisher. Known as the Fry Fighter, it has been developed for cooking oil and fat fires.
