CCTV key for security managers

A multi-camera Vision service covers the exterior of the building and key internal areas. All images are monitored at Secom’s own ARC.

When security manager Rui Gomes asked for surveillance of the ski slopes, extreme rock climbing areas and the entire City Limits at the Xscape Leisure complex in Milton Keynes, Blue Rock Security Solutions responded with the latest CCTV technology. The system includes a Pelco DX8116 DVR, Panasonic Matrix SX650 and CW960 cameras throughout (to eradicate blind spots) and a new Neovo 19″ screen in the Control Room.

Argyll Telecom’s IdentiCare lone worker device – which looks like a normal ID card holder but is equipped with mobile phone technology – is being specified for use by midwives, health visitors, GPs, district nurses and paramedics within the NHS. In addition, the CommuniCare service enables lone workers to summon assistance should they find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation.

For pharmaceutical products producer Unipath, security at its Bedford hq is a key priority. As part of a recent upgrade, Chubb Electronic Security installed two high specification dome cameras to add to the existing 25 internal and external cameras, intruder alarms and access control solutions already on site.

Kings Waterfront is a GB pound 142 million development on the banks of the River Mersey which will transform King’s Dock into the Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre. The project will feature exhibition facilities to rival the NEC and ExCel. Supporting the complex is a 1,600-space multi-storey car park, for which Conway Security Products has supplied over 100 camera housings from its well-known EH range of specialist external units.
