LPCB has gained UKAS accreditation for the certification of fire blankets to BS EN 1869, which details requirements for fire blankets for single use. It is applicable to fire blankets primarily used for extinguishing cooking oil fires, and fires involving personal clothing.
LPCB has one of the most established fire blanket testing facilities in Europe, having conducted testing of fire blankets to BS EN 1869 since 1997, and prior to 1997 to BS 6575.
