CFS acquires neighbouring firm

The purchase completes CFS’s “most successful year”and supports its “goal to be the largest independent fire and security company in the UK”.

Last year, CFS recorded a 20 per cent growth in turnover, increasing from GB pound 10.7 million to GB pound 13 million and has appointed 35 additional staff since August 2008.

With the acquisition of Premier Planned Maintenance, the firm now employs around 200 people.

Brothers and joint managing directors, Steven and Gary Quirke, who established CFS in 1985, see this latest move supporting their plans to increase the density of clients across the UK.

Steven Quirke said: “The acquisition means our engineers can focus on tighter geographical areas which will allow more time to service customers”.

Their service covers all areas of health, safety and security.

Blue chip customers include Sainsbury’s, Asda, Boots, House of Fraser and now, with the acquisition of PPM, Fitness First and National Grid.

With the two organisations just five miles apart in Sutton Coldfield and Minworth, the integration of operations will be “seamless”, says CFS

Keith Holmes, former MD of PPM and now business development manager within CFS said it was the right time to be part of a bigger company.

In the last six months CFS has opened a new base in London with a team that will provide added value to existing and new customers, likely to grow through work for the Olympics.
