Chiron issues animated guides for IP alarm installers and end users

The new guides are an educational tool for the IP alarms sector, covering key topics from installation and signal strength considerations through to troubleshooting). Other topics will be covered in future releases.

“These new animated guides are a genuine first for the industry,” explained Ian Tredinnick, Chiron’s managing director. “They’ve been developed as part of our ongoing commitment to help installers and end users better understand IP alarms technology.”

Part of wider development programme

The release of the guides forms part of a wider development programme for the company’s web site, which now features a wide range of useful resources for both end users and installers. These include an interactive guide to IP in security, as well as downloadable PDFs in three languages.

The site also carries the latest information on the important issue of product compliance following last month’s announcement that Chiron has become the only company to achieve independent, Europe-wide VdS verification and accreditation with its best-selling IRIS and IRIS Touch range of IP diallers.

Major step forward for end users

Confirmation of the coveted VdS approvals – which is the benchmark standard most widely recognised across Europe – represents a major step forward for system users and installers looking to take advantage of IP alarm technology.

With their flexibility to cover all applications from the largest monitoring centres down to the smallest monitoring sites, as well as their acceptance by insurers, the IRIS systems have rapidly become a market leader in the IP alarms sector.

There are now over 20,000 users across Europe supported by nearly 100 monitoring centres.

Connecting standard panels to ISDN

Chiron Security Communications’ products are now used in a number of applications, such as connecting standard alarm panels to ISDN, dual path signalling, video surveillance and for alarm connections over private IP networks, etc.

The company has been designing and developing communications systems for the security industry for over 18 years now. Its solutions have come to be relied upon by banks and insurance companies, as well as security systems providers themselves.
