The original equipment manufacturing agreement will enable French IT company Bull to sell CommVault’s full suite of software under the name ‘Calypso’.
Bull’s objective is to offer a ‘complete data management solution to customers with a single interface’. They believe that the addition of CommVault’s products will provide real results for global business, as the Director of Bull’s storage business unit, Benoit Hallez, stated:
“We did a thorough analysis of the data management and protection vendors in the market and concluded that CommVault’s deep application integration, management framework and robust architecture set the technology apart from any other vendor”.
He continued, “Including CommVault products with our solutions will provide our customers the end-to-end, secure and easy-to-manage storage environment their businesses operations require.”
Bob Hammer, the president and CEO of CommVault, feels that strategic partnerships such as this will help to drive increased use of the company’s software.
Bull now plan to position Calypso as its preferred data management partner.
