Compro launches embedded NVR line

The RS-2200 Series comprises two models, the 12-channel RS-2212 and the eight-channel RS-2208. According to Compro, the series has been designed for surveillance applications in homes as well as small and medium-sized businesses.

‘Standing slightly taller than a coke can’, the RS-2200 Series can ‘nicely fit’ anywhere in a home, shop or office, Compro said.

The dual 3.5″ drive bay has been designed to provide a maximum storage capacity of 6TB, and can be accessed by opening the front lid.

A spokesman said: “A one-touch backup button and a USB port on the front panel enables fast and easy data backup to USB storage devices. The Gigabit Ethernet port at the rear panel ensures fast and stable connection with network cameras. Power-efficient design also keeps the energy cost in check when running the RS-2200 Series 24/7.”

Linux system and support

The video recorders have been embedded with a Linux system and support H.264 live monitoring and recording. The RS-2212 is capable of recording 12 megapixel channels simultaneously, whereas the RS-2208 can record 8 megapixel channels concurrently.

The RS-2200 Series also supports RAID-0 and RAID-1, has a friendly browser interface and has an event notification feature.

According to Hans Chang, Director of Product Marketing at Compro Technology, the launch of the Compro’s RS-2200 series signifies a new era in the NVR market where linkage with the cameras is simplified to a ‘single click’ of a button.
