A new milk processing plant is using composite panels from Eurobond to help meet fire safety and hygiene requirements. Robert Wiseman Dairies’s multi-million pound development involves the construction of a dairy complex in Bridgewater and, on completion, the site will process 500 million litres a year.
The cladding contractor is using Firemaster Wall Lite and Firemaster Wall Extra internal composite wall panels for compartmentation. The panels are manufactured using a non-combustible Rockwool mineral wool core, and are faced with Corus Colorcoat CES120, a polymer film product which has been independently certified for prolonged food contact. The anti-static surface helps prevent the build-up of dirt and dust, and it is resistant to staining and mould growth, so promoting a hygienic environment.
The Firemaster range is LPCB and FM-approved, with the Lite panels said to be easy to handle and install and suitable for fire resistant wall linings or partitions. The Wall Extra panels have achieved BS 5234-2: 1992 severe duty rating for partition wall strength and robustness.
Both products provide up to four hours’ fire performance and are available in panel lengths up to 12 metres and panel widths of 1150mm.
