Because the system, which uses fixed and dome cameras, had a priority to minimise false alarms sent to the monitoring station, movement detectors from GJD were used.
20 D-Tect’s were installed with additional D-Guard’s as extra protection for the detectors. The integral pan and tilt meant Protive could install the detectors in the most appropriate locations at the optimum three-metre mounting height.
The D-Tect2 is a Quad PIR with a programmable detection range up to 30 metres. The D-Tect50 extends to 50 metres and has Quad PIR which can be adjusted in range and angle to prevent boundary overspill in perimeter protection.
The detectors have polyethylene covers, which conceal the direction of the lens.
Shaun Ryan, sales director for Warrington-based Protive, said they used a new hand-held signal strength and range walk-tester which reduced installation time and cost to the customer.
