Fire safety specialist Vimpex has announced it is now the distributor of Ateis’ DIVA (Distributed Integrated Voice Alarm) public address and evacuation technologies.
The key selling points for DIVA8M are its ease of use, which the manufacturer claims make it suitable for all types of site, and its compliance with EN 60849/BS 5839. It also features a matrix, five audio inputs, and an integrated firefighter microphone and has the ability to monitor up to eight zones. The DIVA system deploys two amplifiers – one for music, one for voice – with the music amplifier acting as a backup if the voice amplifier fails. Up to 16 digital voice messages can be recorded as WAV files and uploaded to the DIVA system, and two messages can be played simultaneously in different zones.
The Ateis technology is seen as complementary to Vimpex’s portfolio, which already has the Fire-Cyrer range. Viv Jones, managing director of Vimpex, commented: “The addition of the DIVA voice alarm system means that Vimpex is now firmly placed in the market as the company for voice evacuation supply.”
