The Redwave detectors use PIR and microwave technology, as well as Adjustable Microwave Range Limiter and Dual Quad Zone Logic PIR. It was chosen by SSS because of its ability to distinguish between genuine alarms and those caused by small animals or moving trees.
SSS managing director Simon Davidson said since installing the detectors, false alarm activations have been reduced to zero, and they have successfully warned off two would-be intruders from the site.
