Can a fire risk assessment really address future issues that arise from long-term building management?
Fire risk assessments aren’t just a legally required document, but a crucial step in ensuring that a building is safe. However, the process of managing risk from fire does not stop once a fire risk assessment has been signed off — it’s a continuous process that involves responding to risks as they develop.
On October 23, 2013, Exova Warrington Certification is running a “Technical Day for Fire Safety Professionals” in Leeds designed for all fire safety professionals; occupational and professional fire risk assessors, fire safety managers, fire and rescue service personnel, health and safety managers, and anyone that has a responsibility for fire safety provision within complex or large building portfolios.
Presentations will cover:
- Management lessons to be learnt from the Rose Park Care Home fire
- The potential cost of not managing building works and alterations
- Fire risk assessments that influence long-term fire safety management
- Management of assisted evacuation in the event of fire
- Management for the fire and rescue service first response team
- PAS 7 — fire risk assessment for conformity assessment
- Design and implementation of fire safety management against tight budget constraints .
Anyone who attends the seminar as well will received four hours’ worth of CPD points. The delegate rate for the day is GB pound 60, with a discounted rate of GB pound 36 available for FRACS certified assessors, fire service personnel, ISFM, and NAHFO members.
The event will take place at the Holiday Inn, Wakefield Road, Garforth, Leeds, and places can be booked by contacting Jayne Dennett on jayne.dennett@exova.com or +44 (0)1925 646 663.
