First national fire safety day for schools

[

The first national fire safety day for schools will be held next week on 19 November. On average, 35 children under the age of 11 are killed in fires in the UK every year, and around 1170 are injured.

National Schools’ Fire Safety week aims to highlight the issues to pupils in conjunction with local community fire safety teams. In particular, Year 2 children will be encouraged to learn five key messages on planning a safe escape.
