The four honoured at the event at Old Trafford Cricket Ground were:
Steve Nelson, Group Security Manager for Thomas Cook Group, and a founder member. He was presented with the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in promoting Raid-control’.
Kay Wright, former BSIA Media Manager and Raid-control Public Relations Advisor, who was recognised for her dedication in promoting the work of the initiative and as chair of the public relations sub-committee. She was also presented with an award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in promoting Raid-control’.
Inspector Anne Banks and Detective Sergeant David Hey, West Yorkshire Police (WYP), were both presented with the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Implementing Raid-control’.
They were instrumental in implementing Raid-control in the West Yorkshire Police area and “worked tirelessly to ensure its success in reducing violent retail robbery”.
