Frozen cameras, anyone?

The Taiwanese manufacturer tested three of its cameras – the Ai-IR59, Ai-DC75 and Ai-BU45s – in temperatures below -70deg C (-94deg F).

The cameras were first ‘frozen’ using dry ice while disconnected. Once the required temperature was reached, the cameras were connected to a power source, and the test was run for two and a half hours.

Acumen says all camera parameters were tested, including visual, weather resistance, and potential condensation. The Ai-IR59 was also tested on its ability to retain warmth in its glass lens covering.

All three cameras successfully passed the tests, Acumen says.
