Optex has added the DCL-300 weatherproof outdoor camera with combined 80W beam lamp and advanced motion sensor to its Event Driven CCTV range. It allows installers to fit just one unit to record images, rather than installing a separate camera, PIR and light. The camera viewing angle, detection and light illumination area are all perfectly matched so when the unit detects an intruder, the light turns on to illuminate the field of view of the camera.
The detector incorporates Quad patented technologies such as Double Conductive Shielding, minimising false alarms from vehicle headlights and direct sunlight.
The DCL-300 is wall, ceiling or pole mountable. An adjustable photocell ensures the light only activates in darkness. The camera is high definition, 380 TVL mono with optional 3.6mm and 6mm lenses.

<b>The BAT call!</b>
The Bold Group has a new dual signalling solution that operates independently from alarm systems. Aimed at locations where no PSTN line is available, the GSM BAT provides PSTN and GSM paths and can be interfaced with most control panel programmable outputs.
Eight inputs come as standard and are expandable to eight outputs and 16 inputs. In the event of a line fault or cut, the alarm condition is transmitted via the GSM data channel to the ARC. SMS messages can also be sent.
The unit can be supplied as a standalone, rapid deployment alarm transmitter. It is quick and simple to install, requires no airtime agreement and can be used with pay-as-you-go SIM cards.

<b>Distinguishing PIR</b>
From Alarmcom comes a PIR which, the company says, can distinguish between intruders and pets of up to 40kg. The IR 120 uses Alarmcom’s black triplex mirror technology that increases sensitivity by creating three times as many detection zones as standard devices.
The patented technology provides a high level of immunity to interference from white light, making it easier to position the detector in any environment regardless of ambient light. The compact PIR is suitable for rooms with dimensions of up to 10m and its snap-in design and automatic self-test also makes installation easy.
The IR120 also has a sealed optical chamber, to protect against insects. A sealed housing prevents interference by air turbulence.
