Claudia Gerrard has worked as an in-house lawyer in a number of highly prestigious companies including Kier Construction, Alliance & Leicester and LeasePlan.
Presently the legal director at Ortolan Legal (more of whom anon), and armed with substantial post-qualification experience, Claudia has gained an extensive base of knowledge in the legal and commercial world and specialises in security, parking issues and both the aviation and leasing sectors.
The contributor of regular monthly legal columns in security-focused trade journals, Claudia has also submitted articles for Fleet News, the BVRLA News and the International In-House Counsel Journal.
At IFSEC International 2012, Claudia will be speaking in the Security Management Education Theatre between noon and 1.00 pm on Tuesday 15 May. This segment of conference offers a whistle-stop tour of some of the key areas affecting the security sector just now, among them contractual and employment issues as well as the Olympic Games and how they might impact businesses.
Claudia’s presentation at the NEC in Birmingham will also touch on Health and Safety legislation for security professionals.
In this short video interview – the first in a series we’ll be conducting with speakers scheduled to appear at this year’s show – Claudia explains why there’s a pressing need to highlight key legal issues for security managers and their employers, and focuses in particular on the recently-introduced Equality Act.
