ISACA announces 2012-2013 Board of Directors

Allan Boardman CISA CISM CGEIT CRISC CA (SA) ACA CISSP, the information risk manager at Morgan Stanley (UK), has been installed as international vice-president of ISACA, the global association serving 100,000 IT governance, assurance, risk and security professionals in 180 countries.

The announcement came at the organisation’s World Congress: Insights 2012 Conference held in San Francisco, California earlier on today.

Founded in 1969, ISACA develops international standards for information systems auditing and control; provides education and training and administers the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) designations.

Additionally, ISACA developed COBIT, the internationally accepted framework for governance and management of enterprise IT. The latest version, COBIT 5, was released last April.

“Allan’s wealth of experience is a tremendous asset to ISACA,” said Greg Grocholski CISA, chief audit executive at The Dow Chemical Company, who was elected international president of ISACA.

“He has made significant contributions in international and national leadership roles and is a valuable member of the ISACA Board.”

Wealth of experience brought to the role

Boardman began his career with Deloitte in Cape Town, South Africa, and has more than 30 years of experience in information systems audit, risk, security and consultancy roles at companies including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, PwC, Marks and Spencer and the London Stock Exchange.

He’s a past-president of the ISACA London Chapter and has served on the British Computer Society’s Information Risk Management and Audit Committee. Boardman has also served on )and chaired) ISACA’s CISM Certification Committee and Leadership Development Committee.

Boardman currently chairs ISACA’s Credentialing Board and is a member of its Strategic Advisory Council. He’s also a London 2012 Paralympics Games Maker and a Freeman of the City of London.

“I’m privileged and honored to continue to serve ISACA,” said Boardman. “It’s an amazing organisation to be part of and I am very excited to be involved in the association as it continues its global leadership in trust and value services to its members and the wider information systems community.”

Additional leadership roles for 2012-2013

In addition to Grocholski and Boardman, nine other IT professionals were named to ISACA leadership positions for the 2012-2013 term.

Elected as international vice-presidents were Juan Luis Carselle CISA CGEIT CRISC, the head of IT infrastructure at Walmart de Mexico y Centro America (Mexico); Christos Dimitriadis CISA CISM CRISC, head of information security for INTRALOT SA (Greece), Ramses Gallego CISM CGEIT CCSK CISSO CISSP SCPM, security strategist at Quest Software in Spain, Tony Hayes CGEIT AFCHSE CHE FACS FCPA FIIA, associate director-general of the Department of Communities in the Queensland Government (Australia), Jeff Spivey CRISC CPP PSP, the director of Security Risk Management (SRM) (USA) and Marc Vael CISA CISM CGEIT CISSP, chief audit executive at Smals in Belgium.

Three directors have also been appointed to ISACA’s Board:
