Novartis is an international provider of innovative healthcare solutions. The company, which is based in Basel, Switzerland, has awarded ISS the contract to deliver integrated facility services at 22 sites (including production plants and other facilities) across the four countries from 1 January next year.
In the selection process Novartis was “driven by the need to find a solution whereby facility management could be delivered in a more standardised way” and “ensuring consistent quality and service levels” across sites.
Many of the sites within the scope of the new contract are already privy to outsourced service provision, albeit through a large number of different organisations. The new deal means that the majority of services in future will be delivered solely through ISS.
In terms of detail, the new contract encompasses five sites in Switzerland, 11 sites in Germany, two in Austria and a further four in Slovenia.
Acceptance of the delivery model
“We’re delighted that Novartis has chosen ISS to take its facility management into the next phase,” enthused Jeff Gravenhorst, group CEO at ISS.
“We take the confidence Novartis has shown in us as a clear confirmation of the strength and acceptance of the ISS delivery model and global facility management platform.”
Gravenhorst went on to state: “We fully realise that the partnership with Novartis is a major undertaking across the four countries involved, but we’re completely committed to making the partnership a success.”
The group CEO stressed that ISS has built a unique global service platform from which it integrates and self-delivers a complete set of facility services including security, catering, property, cleaning and general support functioning.
In Gravenhorst’s view, such an offering is particularly relevant for global customers like Novartis who are “looking for consistent and transparent service delivery” across the portfolio.
When this new partnership is fully implemented, Novartis will become one of the largest global customers of ISS.
