E2S has developed new digital to analogue software and amplifier technology that enables its sounders to mimic, in one product, an industrial hooter, high and medium frequency mechanical sirens, a buzzer and a bell, with what is claimed to be amazing fidelity.
The advantages of replacing electro-mechanical devices with electronic equivalents are the savings in power consumption and weight: sirens and hooters can be extremely heavy and often need 3-phase mains power. The other advantages are that with output levels of up to 121dB(A) at 1 metre, the Hootronic also surpasses the performance and effectiveness of its traditional counterpart, claims the company. The product is continuously rated and requires no maintenance.
The Hootronic family is available in three different mechanical configurations: the HMA Series is a 121 dB(A) sounder or a combined unit with a 112 dB(A) sounder and either a 5 Joule Xenon beacon or a 32-element high output LED array. The HA Series is packaged in a 190mm square format, again rated at 121 dB(A) as a stand-alone sounder or a combined unit with either a 5 Joule Xenon beacon, an 8-element high output LED array or a 3 Watt filament lamp.
All versions can be powered from 24VDC, 115VAC or 230VAC. The HMA Series is available sealed to either IP66 or IP67, the HA Series is sealed to IP55 as standard or IP66 with the optional waterproofing kit, enabling them to be installed inside or in the open air.
