KABA, Winkhaus, GTV UK, Assa Abloy and CISA have gained approval to use the Kitemark on 15 types of cylinder.
The scheme, run by BSI Product Services, employs a detailed evaluation of the cylinders in line with European standard EN 1303, together with an additional test to evaluate the cylinder’s resistance to the most significant emerging attack methods.
Enhanced security lock cylinders bearing the BSI Kitemark also meet the needs of BS 3621 “Thief Resistant Locks” and PAS 24 “Enhanced Security Performance for Door Assemblies”, both of which have recently been updated.
The scheme is supported by the insurance industry, the NHBC, the Master Locksmith’s Association and the police.
