The new networked digital CCTV system provides both security surveillance and a video record of truck and parcel movements throughout its five Austrian distribution centres.
As a truck arrives at a distribution centre an operator tracks its movements with a PTZ dome, monitoring and recording the unloading process along with the number plate, driver’s identity and truck arrival time. This provides an important element in the firm’s packet tracking system and provides visual evidence in the event of a shipping problem. It also provides traditional security surveillance to protect against intruders and possible theft both inside and outside of the warehouse.
