LONMARK opens test centre for network installers

The Proficiency Testing Centre will also run exams for people who design and integrate the high-security networks. The Certified Professional Test is one of three certifications to be offered by the centre and will cover:

– LonWorks history and basic terminology
– Transport media
– Nodes
– Communication
– Physical network structuring
– Logical network structuring
– Installation
– Network configuration
– Tools for network management
– LonWorks and IP
– Troubleshooting
– User interfaces

LON technology’s basic premise is to offer a single wire through which every component of a network is attached, allowing them to share information securely.

To prepare for the exam, applicants can use the official LONWORKS Installation Handbook, which is printed in both English and German, and online tutorials. Additional training courses and seminars are offered worldwide through local LONMARK affiliates.

Successful applicants will become LONMARK certified, which the company says will guarantee customers the best possible LON solution.

One of only five in Europe, the new test centre will offer its first test on 24th August this year with an additional test date on the 23rd November.
