The House of Bruar, at Pitlochry in Perthshire, has been described as Scotland’s ‘most prestigious’ country store. It was installed with a new high definition CCTV solution which included a digital recording system at the end of last year.
The IP system, supplied and installed by Scottish Communications Group (SCG), has already detected several instances of shoplifting.
Robert Day, retail manager for The House of Bruar, said: “So far this year we have had seven people convicted of shoplifting. Gone are the days of grainy VHS tapes as these new cameras can provide an unmistakable image from 300 metres away.
“Everyone, police included, comment on the quality of the images and how they are the best they have seen. The system is quick and easy to use and is a great tool in the fight against shoplifters.”
SCG worked together with The House of Bruar Management team throughout the whole project to implement the system.
Liam Mowat, technical director of SCG, said: “It is great to see our in-house designed IP CCTV solutions providing such tangible results.”
