An interesting and frank exchange of views took place between some of the great and the good at this year’s Skills for Security National Conference, held at the Williams F1 Conference Centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Rising to the challenges posed by the SMT/Infologue.com Make The Change Campaign, Baroness Henig of Lancaster (the SIA’s chairman), Wilson James’ director Stuart Lowden, Bill Muskin (the chairman of VSG), SMT Online’s Editor Brian Sims, Guy Matthias (associate director of UK security at Huntingdon Life Sciences and Richard Evans (formerly of The Watch Security) took to the stage under the chairmanship of outgoing BSIA chief executive David Dickinson to outline their differing views on the future direction of the guarding industry, and what it needs to do to build on the progress made so far.
Over 150 attendees attended the event, and an edited video of this thought-provoking and, occasionally, amusing debate is now available to view on the Skills for Security web site. We’ve posted the link on the right-hand panel of this page. Watch the debate, and please let us know your thoughts on what’s said!
