Milestone, which develops open platform IP video management software, started out in business at a time when few people anticipated the shift from analogue to digital.
Speaking about the early days, a statement from Milestone notes that “sceptical responses were the norm” when they demonstrated their software at trade shows.
But as IP has become mainstream, Milestone has expanded rapidly from one small office in Denmark to subsidiaries in seven countries and over 130 employees.
Lars Thinggaard, President & CEO at Milestone Systems, said: “We enable our customers to optimize their business processes by delivering an open and independent IP video surveillance software platform. That is our mission and why we are doing so well. Our vision is driving the global convergence of video surveillance and IP-based business systems – and in this we are succeeding.”
Celebrations for the first Milestone decade in business will start on February 1st at the headquarters in Denmark then continue at the company’s bi-annual channel event: the Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS) being held in Puerto Rico the following week.
