New Chief Executive at SIA

Mike Wilson, a 63 year-old Major General, is expected to take over from the SIA’s Acting Chief Executive Andy Drane this September.

Wilson is currently the Chief Executive of Gangmasters Licensing Authority, an organisation set up to prevent exploitation of those who work in agriculture, horticulture, shellfish gathering and associated processing and packaging industries.

Said to be delighted with the appointment, Baroness Henig commented:

“The Board and I look forward to working with Mike and we are confident that with his broad working experience, and with the support of his colleagues, he will build on the SIA’s achievements and work collaboratively with government, industry and all the SIA’s stakeholders to continue to take forward the successful regulation of the private security industry.”

Wilson, whose interests include shooting, climbing and fishing, has a long military career. He has also worked with agencies and public bodies including the Defence Vetting Agency and the Military Survey Defence Agency.
