New door operator from Ingersoll Rand

The Dor-O-Matic operator is a self-contained electro-mechanical drive unit for surface applied applications on new or existing bi-parting doors.

Housed in high-grade extruded aluminium, the low-profile design co-ordinates with most commercial architectural systems. It has an overall height of only 10.5cm and projection of just 13cm.

The Dor-O-Matic 2900 Series operator is supplied complete with a first-fix mounting plate for fast installation and a modular docking system to facilitate easy assembly, commissioning and servicing.

Other features include high-density rollers for “very smooth and virtually silent automatic door operation”.

Less power consumed
The compact drive system is based on a micro-motor which consumes less power than traditional products and helps reduce whole life costs, Ingersoll Rand claims.

The operator is also supplied with a frame mounted digital user-interface which enables the user to change door settings quickly and easily and to run on-screen diagnostics.

A number of built-in safety features provide appropriate operation in the event of abnormal situations, such as an obstruction in the doorway (when the operator’s auto-reverse function moves the doors to the open position until the obstruction is removed) or power failure (the battery-back up will either power the doors to the fully open – or closed – position, depending on the pre-programmed setting).

The operator also offers building owners a range of user options, including one-way traffic (useful when a building is closing and customers need to exit, while deterring entry by new people) and ‘summer-winter’ setting (where, during colder months, the operator can be set to automatically reduce the width of opening in periods of low-traffic usage – helping save energy).
