The SIR-4250 has a varifocal lens and is billed by Samsung as being a true day/night and colour/monochrome camera.
During the day it delivers colour images at 520 TV lines whilst at night it can capture high quality monochrome images at 570 TV lines.
Among its technical features are a four zone privacy image masking function and motion detection whilst the on-screen menu camera settings can be changed remotely via RS-485 communication.
Samsung says that SIR-4250’s LEDS are up to four times brighter than ordinary LEDs ensuring camera visibility of up to 16 metres in ultra low light conditions.
It also has incorporated noise reduction technology which results in a reduced recorded file size i.e. up to 70%, when using MPEG-4 compression and 40% when using JPEG and thereby reducing the size of hard disc required, Samsung said.
