New rugged camera range for Honeywell

The range features four integrated high-resolution, auto-focus camera/optic systems.

Optimised for mounting in areas that may be prone to vandalism or extreme weather, the IP66 rated ACUIX rugged housing is made from powder coated die-cast aluminium and the dome coated with silicone making it scratch and abrasion resistant.

The ruggedised version of ACUIX supports both analogue and IP video transmissions and incorporates Honeywell’s proprietary Intellibus protocol for high-speed performance and easy upgrades. Intellibus allows camera settings such as labels, presets, tours, and privacy zones to be uploaded to a new camera/optics package if required, protecting the dome’s settings.

“Incorporating the same innovative features of the existing ACUIX Series, this ruggedised version supports remote storage of camera data and remote firmware upgrades,” Mark Openshaw, product manager at Honeywell, said.

“This allows installers to perform set-up and maintenance from their premises, which in turn minimises installation time at the customer site and eliminates complications at the top of a ladder. Customers and installers alike will appreciate the robustness, remarkable performance and ease of use of this ruggedised ACUIX dome.”

The series includes a Day/Night model with a 35x zoom featuring Wide Dynamic Range and Electronic Image Stabilisation.
