The new trains, being manufactured for Metronet Rail and the first of which will enter service on the Metropolitan Line in 2009, will be fitted with Bombardier’s Sekurflo transit security system, the video part of which has been jointly designed with March Networks. Bombardier is one of the five companies making up the Metronet consortium.
With more than 3 million passengers journeys a day, London Underground is one of the largest metro systems in the world. Metronet Rail is investing around GB pound 16 billion over 30 years to upgrade nine of the 12 Underground lines. The solution will also feature intelligent video analytics.
