‘No moving parts’ camera now anti vandal

The 212 PTZ-V is designed for indoor surveillance in demanding environments such as schools, banks, shops and receptions where a whole area overview with quick PTZ and automatic patrol is essential.

It features a metal base and a durable, transparent cover, said to provide “excellent protection” against vandalism.

A 3 megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens “ensures the same high quality image for both overview and close up surveillance”, says the company.

With no moving parts, the camera alternates instantly between full overview and instant pan/tilt/zoom, without any wear and tear or noise.

Installation is said to be quick and easy because it uses Power over Ethernet – one Ethernet cable for both power and video.

As “insurance against the growing shortage of IPv4 addresses,” it supports IPv6 as well as standard IP protocol version 4.

Steve Gorski, UK MD, said the vandal resistant casing will widen the camera’s appeal “even further” and vandal resistant casings will be used on a growing number of Axis cameras.
