Norbain IP open day success

It follows on from IP workshops held last year which formed an introduction to the technology.

“After speaking with previous attendees and with customers, we realised that a more advanced series of workshops was required,” said Marie Kemshall, events manager at Norbain.

“The fear-factor of IP now appears to be over, and installers are now interested in learning exactly what the technology offers and what it can do for them.”

Uptake on the open day was over-subscribed, but Norbain was keen to keep the size of the event manageable to ensure attendees felt comfortable asking questions and were able to extract all the information they needed.

To enable this, attendees were split into smaller groups, each looked after by a different IP expert in the industry. Participating manufacturers included Axis Communications, Sony, Pelco, EScon, Milestone and Vista.

“Although IP systems sales are still relatively small compared with analogue/DVR systems, Norbain is seeing a significant growth in demand for projects in the middle and enterprise markets,” said Buzz Coates, Norbain’s branded CCTV manager.

“In response to this, we will always take an active role in supporting our customer requests. Our IP seminars are aimed at fulfilling the demand for further knowledge – not just on products, but also utilising the tools available to assist IT managers with IP CCTV Video over the network.”
