NVR technology comes down to entry level

Part of the system is the Plustek NVR4000, a network video recorder which connects directly to a network and uses M-JPEG recordings. Together with up to four network cameras, including those from Axis Communications, the system is designed to help detect shoplifters, reduce false alarms and increase personal safety. It is aimed at small businesses such as shops, petrol stations, hotels and small offices.

Features include a 320GB hard disc allowing 14 days’ data from four channels at one frame/second VGA resolution; bundled software applications for simultaneous recording, playback and live access from up to four cameras; and scheduled triggered recordings at up to 60 fps in VGA and 120 fps in QVGA.
