Specially produced laser etched barcode labels provide a unique ID for each bicycle as part of an automated system to manage bicycle hire and maintenance. The bikes are scanned in and out at Center Parcs cycle centres using handheld laser scanners with keypads that allow entry of status information such as hired, returned, stolen and for repair.
