S2 NetBox is said to be the first system of its kind to offer an open platform, solid state network appliance architecture, and is now being demonstrated by Panasonic sales managers around the UK.
The system lets operators control access products and VoIP intercoms, manage identities and photo IDs, monitor alarms and temperatures and oversee video surveillance. Panasonic said the S2 NetBox also offers seamless integration with access control and alarms, supporting IP and analogue cameras, NVRs and DVRs.
“We are launching the S2 NetBox to ensure we stay at the forefront of technological innovation in all areas of an integrated security system supply,” said Paul Meehan, head of system solutions sales in the UK.
Accessible remotely using a browser, the S2 NetBox uses embedded software on a solid state blade instead of a traditional administration PC.
Panasonic said that, because the S2 NetBox is a ‘one box solution’, it is easy to install and offers a lower cost of ownership than traditional systems.
Meehan said, “The NetBox solution has opened up new markets for our installer and integrator partners making them fiercely competitive in CCTV and access control tenders, offering a level of technological excellence that keeps us ahead of our competitors.”
