Pelco CEO steps down after 20 years

He will be replaced by Dean Meyer, Pelco’s COO since November 2007.

McDonald, who will continue to work with Pelco as chairman of the board, said he was “truly excited” about the company’s future under Meyer.

“Dean’s tenacity, energy, and strong people skills have quickly earned him the respect of all – including me,” he said.

Meyer takes responsibility for reorganising Pelco in the wake of its recent merger with Schneider Electric and for realising business opportunities.

“Although it’s important to note that obviously we are part of a big corporate company with the Schneider merger, I also think it is equally important to protect those things that have made Pelco so successful in its own right – namely the customer service model, the community outreach, the employee empowerment,” he said.

The University of Iowa graduate began his professional career at Texas Instruments, where he spent 11 years in manufacturing, production control, material planning and assembly. He then worked as president of TAC Americas (also a subsidiary of Schneider Electric) for seven years before joining Pelco.

“I am excited about the challenges of this opportunity,” Meyer added.
