PIR hides a secret

It can record up to 500,000 images on to a 4Gb mini SD card and is said to be easily installed on a swivel mounting bracket for rapid deployment.

Recordings are triggered by external contacts, PIR or video motion detection. The 2 megapixel camera produces evidential quality images at up to ten frames per second.

It offers lower resolution settings for fast transmission over cellular networks. Images are dated timed and watermarked.

The solid state device from Video Domain Technologies (UK) Ltd will record up to 768 hours of video without requiring day to day intervention or maintenance. It can be armed and disarmed via a remote and a panic button makes it suitable for customer-facing environments.

Images are analysed by removing the SD card and inserting it into a memory card reader connected to a PC.
