Sanyo’s hybrid DSR-HB8000 DVR
CCTV specialist Sanyo’s latest hybrid DVR is said to offer end users “the best of both worlds” as it can record ‘real time’ images from a combination of both IP and analogue cameras.
The DSR-HB8000 records at 400 frames per second, capturing images from anything up to 16 cameras (four of which may be IP cameras). Sixteen channel audio recording is also possible for these models, which have a potential on-board storage capacity of up to 3.75 TB of video.
The high performance DVRs make use of the MPEG-4+ compression technology, which allows the rapid, high quality transmission of data over a network combined with fast-forward and reverse playback.
The DSR-HB8000 is also equipped with telemetry coaxial control for PTZ cameras. A further feature – entitled Monitor Plus – allows other networked DVRs to be accessed. As a result, anything up to 80 cameras may be monitored and controlled from a lone recorder.
A feature that will be of particular interest to retailers is the DSR-HB8000’s ability to interact with EPoS systems. Video may be searched by looking for specific data or text. Suspicious activity can therefore be quickly and easily analysed by the end user.
