Cambridgeshire-based installers AGE Electrical Services said that the domes were selected for the project as they are compact and unobtrusive, meaning they are unlikely to be struck by high-sided vehicles as they move around the sites.
Rainbow’s HDCVF3DX 3.8~9.5mm colour dome cameras are 1/3″ models using a high-resolution Sony Super HAD CCD. Supplied by UK distributor ADI-Gardiner, they form a new part of BP’s large CCTV operation aimed at improving safety, logistics and customer protection.
The vandal-resistant cameras are being used in conjunction with Fusion DVRs from Honeywell. The four-channel MPEG-4 encoders accept analogue video and audio signals before converting them into a digital packet-based IP format.
AGE Electrical Services say they have particular strength in the closely-regulated petroleum industry, but also work in the retail sector with clients including Halfords and Somerfield.
