Remote incident management offered by Rontal

Rontal Applications say their SimGuard 6000 application give users a comprehensive picture of safety and security at sites because it combines data from a wide range of sources including sensors, cameras and RFID.

The SimGuard 6000 system builds a virtual reality model of each site, including a virtual ‘map’ of real sensors, and stores it in the system’s database. Fences, access-control devices, GPS and intrusion detection devices are all used to make constant checks on the security of the site, both indoors and outdoors.

Rontal say that SimGuard operators can make a virtual tour of the entire site, and the system is said to alert police or security agencies immediately if any kind of problem is detected.

SimGuard 6000 is also designed to help business continuity and is apparently able to detect burst water pipes, electricity problems and even air conditioning malfunctions. Communicating online or via a wireless connection, the system can warn operators to evacuate buildings if such a problem occurs.

“Many organisations, such as utility companies, operate remote facilities, including unmanned sites, with a high risk of vulnerability,” said Roni Zehavi, Rontal’s co-founder and CEO.

“Immediate detection of any incident is critical to the remote facility’s and the entire organisation’s effective functionality. SimGuard 6000 enables the operator to identify and handle the problem as if he were physically located at the remote site.”

During an incident, SimGuard 6000 is said to present real-time information on a situational awareness display. This should allow the operator to see the implications of the incident and to predict its likely outcome.

Rontal say that layers of information relevant to the incident can then be made available onscreen including, for example, the locations of escape routes and fire extinguishers.
