Greg North and Phil Ennis spent a year completing a blended programme of online learning and supporting workshops. Both found the programme challenging, consolidating and extending previous learning and experiences with newer areas such as leadership and finance.
Acknowledging the achievement of Greg and Phil, Stuart Kedward – Human Resources director at Shield – said: “Both Greg and Phil have shown considerable commitment in achieving the CMS award and they have learned much from the experience. At Shield, we believe that staff development both improves the opportunities for our staff, and underpins our commitments to the provision of a quality service for our customers. The SAFE programme offers a highly valued and significant national award and I am delighted that the Shield Guarding Company has played such a prominent role in its introduction to the security industry.”
Greg and Phil were presented with their certificates by Raymond Clarke, managing director of SAFE, along with Zoe Godwin of Shield, who was the first recipient of the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) programme offered by SAFE. In presenting the certificates, Clarke warmly congratulated the achievement of all concerned and saluted the ongoing commitment of The Shield Guarding Company to staff development. “Shield offers an excellent example to others in the industry,” said Clarke.
