Peter joins the company after spending the previous 13 years working for Norbain (the last eight of which he served as Vista product manager).
Peter’s new role will include working closely with Samsung Techwin’s customers to identify market trends that ensure the company’s roadmap reflects market requirements.
Commenting on his appointment, Ainsworth said: “The innovative new products Samsung Techwin will be launching over the next 12 months are specifically designed for the professional security industry, and will underscore our position as one of the world’s leading CCTV manufacturers. I’m very much looking forward to being part of the team that will bring these exciting new products to market.”
Night-time tests booked up
Samsung Techwin has also announced that it will be participating in a series of night-time camera tests hosted by CCTV lighting specialist Raytec.
The test sessions take place on 24 February in Leeds, 26 February (Manchester), 10 March (London) and 12 March in Bristol. They will allow CCTV manufacturers to show installers, systems integrators, specifiers and end users how well their cameras perform in low-light conditions.
“These events could not come at a better time for us,” said Simon Shawley, senior sales manager (UK and Ireland) for Samsung Techwin’s Professional Security Division. “They’ll provide us with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the outstanding low light capabilities of our latest range of cameras, all of which are equipped with Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNR) technology, designed specifically for superb low-light performance.”
Commenting on Samsung Techwin’s participation, Shaun Cutler – director of Raytec – added: “We’re delighted that Samsung Techwin is joining in our night-time events. These are intended to examine the ‘real world’ performance of surveillance systems. Attendees will be given the opportunity to request tests involving specific cameras, lenses and lighting combinations.”
