Scott to speak at Insafe Security Conference

SCY09 offers delegates talks on topical, relevant subjects from leading industry professionals, great networking opportunities – and driving experiences like no other!

This year, the organisers are delighted to confirm that John Scott MSc CPP will be speaking. Scott is the head of security for Post Office Ltd, responsible for the protection of assets across its entire branch network and cash management estate both from external threat and internal fraud. Additionally, John is responsible for the security of the organisation’s commercial products within the financial, Government, mail and telephony commercial markets.

Scott has been with the Royal Mail Group for 14 years in the security field performing a number of roles. These have included the head of security for Royal Mail International responsible for the protection of employees and UK mail worldwide, its foreign subsidiaries and its aviation security sites within the UK.

Driving down external attacks

Scott also led the physical security team for Post Office Ltd, successfully driving down external attacks in both the branch network and across its Cash-in-Transit operation. Prior to joining the Royal Mail Group, he was a police officer with the Metropolitan and Essex Police Services.

John is a member of ASIS (where he serves as chairman of the CPP UK examination development group) and a member of the Professional Development Council.

The Security Conference of the Year: the history

The Security Conference of the Year (SCY’09) was created in 2007 to provide delegates with first rate speakers in a first class environment.

Previous speakers at the InSafe event have included Lord Mackenzie of Framwellgate (former president of the Police Superintendent’s Association), Professor Martin Gill (director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy International), Alan Brown OBE (the director of security at Tesco plc and commander Tim White, head of the Metropolitan Police Service’s Counter-Terrorism section.
