Security Excellence Award winners enjoy the spotlight

These companies, which walked away with one or more of the prestigious awards last Thursday night, have rushed out press releases to let customers and the wider media know that their efforts have been recognised in the UK’s most important security industry awards ceremony.

Particularly proud were the two double winners – IndigoVision and VSG.

IP CCTV security solutions firm IndigoVision walked away with prizes in the International Achievement and Security Manufacturer of the Year categories. The Security Manufacturer of the Year category was an unusual category in that it was chosen by the security industry itself from a group of 20 leading security companies, using an online vote.

The International Achievement award recognised IndigoVision’s export success for IP video in the worldwide casino market, while the Manufacturer of the Year category was for demonstrating outstanding service and making a significant contribution to the market during the past year.

IndigoVision CEO Oilver Vellacott said: “I am delighted with the awards and in particular that they recognise the hard work that all the staff have put into IndigoVision’s recent success.”

Blue chip success
VSG walked away with the Security Guarding Company of the Year award and the Security Training Initiative of the Year. For the Training Initiative award, VSG was jointly nominated with Bank of America, one of its many blue-chip clients.

The award was for the innovative security specialist training programme that VSG has developed and implemented for the Bank.

This is the third time in the past four years that VSG has been recognised as Security Guarding Company of the Year.

“At VSG, we pride ourselves on having staff who continuously strive for excellence in every aspect of their work, and who routinely go beyond the ordinary in the services they provide,” said VSG managing director Keith Francis. “So we’re delighted that their hard work, innovation and enthusiasm has been publicly acknowledged with these awards.

“Clearly, VSG is doing well, but the real winners are our customers. Our continued growth and our successes at the awards confirm what we hope and believe they’ve always known – that when they work with VSG, they’re getting security services that are simply second to none.”

Three times a winner
Crowd management specialist Showsec was also ecstatic about its awrad for Best Event Security Team – the third consecutive year it has walked away with this prize.

Managing director Mark Harding said: “We are delighted to have won this award which is a true testament to the high quality, professionalism and consistency of our operational performance. Having also been re-accredited with our Investors in People, our clients are assured of the highest standards in all strands of our product.”

BSIA delight
And the British Security Industry Authority expressed delight at the fact that its members picked up six of the awards on offer on the night.

These were the aforementioned VSG wins, Integrated Security Solution of the Year, which went to Reliance High-Tech; Customer Care Initiative of the Year, which was won by the Service Team at Siemens Building Technologies Security Systems; Small to Medium Security Installer of the Year, won by ATEC Security; and Bill Mottram of Securitas Security Services, who won Contract Security Manager of the Year.

The Apprentice Skills Challenge first prize was also presented to Karl Green and Alex Graham of BSIA member Chubb Electronic Security.

BSIA PR and marketing communications manager Kiri Gray said: “BSIA members have once more shown that they are dedicated to pursuing innovation and high standards. They are committed to providing the very best products and services and this has been recognised through members’ success at the awards. I congratulate all the winners on their achievements.”
