Selectamark looking for overseas distributors at IFSEC

The Kent-based company said that, following the successful launch of its DNA products in the Netherlands, it is now looking to build up its international distribution network.

Selectamark will also be using the huge security exhibition to demonstrate its new personal attack alarm, which it claims is the most effective on the market. Combining an ear-splitting 138 decibel siren with special DNA spray, the SelectaDNA attack alarm is capable of scaring off attackers and, if necessary, linking them directly to victims.

The SelectaDNA intruder spray, which too contains a unique DNA code and blue UV tracer, is being exhibited as well. While police have been using it in trap vehicles to catch thieves, the system is usually fitted above doors and can be linked to existing alarm systems or panic buttons.

“Over the past year, we have been building up a comprehensive range of forensic DNA products which we believe are market leaders in their respective fields,” said Selectamark’s head of business development, Jason Brown.

“We are looking forward to demonstrating these products to a wide audience at IFSEC 2008 and in particular to any international visitors who may be interested in joining our SelectaDNA distributor network.”

Selectamark will also be bringing along some of its more established products, including SelectaDNA Grease – a product already being used to stop thieves stealing valuable lead from the roofs of churches, schools and public buildings.

The forensic grease can be painted onto any copper piping or lead roofing and, once thieves handle the metal, the DNA markings are passed to their hands and clothing. Selectamark claims the grease is almost impossible to remove and will link thieves irrefutably to the scene of the crime.
