Thomas Ayers – with more than 15 years experience executing complex, multidisciplinary projects at a variety of leading semiconductor companies – will take on the role of vice president of engineering at Pixim.
Ayers was previously vice president of engineering at Broadlogic, charged with developing breakthrough video processing, mixed signal products.
Dr. Justin Reyneri, who joined Pixim as director of software shortly after it was founded, has been promoted to the role of chief scientist. He has more than 25 years experience in electrical engineering and software design, including ASIC and FPGA architectures.
The pair will now be working together to develop Pixim’s next generation of chipsets for the security camera market. Over 100 camera models already use the company’s chipsets across more than 60 countries.
“With the success of our products worldwide, the demands on our engineering resources continue to grow,” said Joe Montalbo, CEO, Pixim.
“Tom will be a valuable member of the executive team, providing technical direction to the company, while his vast experience leading engineering teams and servicing the customer will allow us to scale even quicker to meet growing market needs.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Reyneri will be instrumental in developing image sensing and processing products for security cameras used in the retail, transportation and video analytics markets.
“Justin’s promotion to chief scientist is commensurate with his great contribution to the company and his clear vision for future enhancements,” said Montalbo.
“His vision and experience will spur migration of Pixim’s wide dynamic range image capture and processing competencies to next-generation offerings that target new markets and users.”
