Siemens Datatrak Location and Information Systems has reached a significant milestone with Ferrari’s UK operation, fitting its Trakbak anti-theft device to no less than 1500 vehicles produced by the Maranello-based manufacturer.
The Trakbak system is designed to protect vehicles from theft, working via a vehicle immobiliser and battery motion sensor which compliments a discreetly hidden vehicle location unit.
If a given car is moved illegally, the motion sensor will automatically send a signal to Siemens’ dedicated Trakbak Control Centre. Operators will then alert the customer and the police.
