Skills for Security invests in safer communities

The new qualification is designed to provide education and training for those in the security and safety industries who wish to become accredited persons. This award will ensure that an individual’s training meets stringent requirements, and underpins the vital role that accredited persons play within the Wider Police Family. The intention is to allow accredited persons to address some lower level anti-social behaviours and community safety issues such as graffiti, littering and consumption of alcohol in designated public places.

Speaking about the move to info4security, David Greer – chief executive of Skills for Security said: “The importance of community safety is continually growing and, equally, so is the importance of the job roles of those working within this area. Skills for Security is proud to have worked with ACPO to provide safer and securer environments through the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS), and we’re pleased that Training For Success offers a cost-effective and efficient means of ensuring that accredited persons will develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills so that they can play an important part in creating safer communities and reducing the fear of crime.”

Ian Kirke – managing director at Training For Success – added: “This award underpins the vital role that accredited persons play within the Wider Police Family. Its practical approach and flexible learning opportunities offer a significant return on investment, especially since prior Security Industry Authority learning is recognised. The blended learning solution, which engages with distance learning materials, significantly reduces the time away from the workplace. Already in use by a number of public and private sector organisations, enforcement staff at The London Borough recently celebrated a 100% pass rate and Waitrose Supermarkets has recently procured the solution for their in-house security officers.”

The scheme is available for GB pound 302.50 (plus vat) per delegate (or GB pound 252.50 plus vat per delegate if they are exempt from the conflict resolution element).

An additional examination fee of GB pound 47.50 (plus vat) per delegate is also applicable.
